The difference between DC fuse and AC fuse

The difference between DC fuse and AC fuse

There are three differences between a DC fuse and an AC fuse

(1) In the case of DC transmission, ac systems on both sides do not need to run synchronously, while AC transmission must run synchronously. When ac power is transmitted over a long distance, the phase difference between the two ends of the ac power transmission system will be significant.

(2) The loss of HVDC transmission failure is smaller than that of AC transmission. If two AC systems are connected by AN AC line, when a short-circuit occurs on one side of the system, the other side sends the short-circuit current to the faulty side.

(3) In cable transmission lines, dc transmission lines have no capacitive current, while AC transmission lines have capacitive current, causing losses. Alternating current (ac) is to use ac generator, in the process of power generation, more uniform distribution of magnetic pole is according to certain Angle on a circle, make the power generation process, each coil is cutting lines, with much of the poles, each of the lines of magnetic force produced by magnetic pole was cut of voltage and current are change by string pattern, so can continuously produce stable current. The direction of the direct current does not change with time. It is usually divided into pulsating direct current and steady current. Pulsating DC has AC components, such as the power supply circuit in color TV, about 300 volts of voltage is pulsating DC components can be removed by capacitor. Steady current is more ideal, the magnitude and direction are constant.

What is the difference between a surge protector and a surge arrester?

In lightning protection products, surge protectors and arresters are widely used. Both are important components to protect electronic equipment. There are also fundamental differences. Let us first see what these two lightning protection products are. The surge protector is to limit the instantaneous overvoltage that enters the power line and signal transmission line within the voltage range […]
